Secrets of the Operating Room
You’ve probably read stories about construction workers ending up in the hospital after being accidentally shot by a nail gun, like a man that survived with a nail lodged in his skull. But power tool accidents happen to doctors too, in the operating room.
A colon stabling device exploded in an operating room. Well, after being hurled against the wall by a surgeon when he became frustrated it wouldn’t work after struggling to remove a diseased segment of colon from a 330 lb middle-aged man. The surgeon was upset because his back hurt from moving fat out of the way.
And he was infuriated that this wasn’t the first time the stapler failed to perform. Several months earlier, the same type of stapler failed to perform and resulted in severe complications in different 66-year old patient.
